MARY, THE MOTHER OF FAITH

MARY'S CHARITY TOWARDS HER NEIGHBOUR

Image
Mary's Charity  So great was Mary's charity when on earth, that she helped the needy without even being asked. This was the case at the marriage feast at Cana, when she told her Son that family's distress:  "They have no wine, and asked Him to work a miracle." (Jn 2:3) With what speed she hastened to help her elderly cousin, St Elizabeth,  as soon as she heard of her condition and knew she needed help.  "She went with haste into the hill country" (Lk 1:39). St. Bonaventure applies these words to Mary: "Mary so loved the world as to give her only begotten Son."  Nor has this love of Mary for us diminished, says St. Bonaventure, "now that she is in heaven, but it has increased, for now she sees better the miseries of mankind." He continues:  "Great was the mercy of Mary towards the wretched when she was still in exile on earth; it is far greater now that she reigns in heaven." Blessed is he, says the Holy Mother, who listens ...

15 PRAYERS OF ST BRIDGET ON THE PASSION OF OUR LORD

Image
15 ST BRIDGET PRAYERS ON THE PASSION OF CHRIST FIRST PRAYER Our Father – Hail Mary. O Jesus Christ! Eternal Sweetness to those who love Thee, joy surpassing all joy and all desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners, Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire than to be among men, even assuming human nature at the fullness of time for the love of men, recall all the sufferings Thou hast endured from the instant of Thy conception, and especially during Thy Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from all eternity in the Divine plan. Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples, having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy Most Precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst foretell them Thy coming Passion. Remember the sadness and bitterness which Thou didst experience in Thy Soul as Thou Thyself bore witness saying: “My Soul is sorrowful even unto death.” Remember all the fear, anguish and pain that Thou didst ...

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN ANT. This is the rod in which was neither knot of original sin, nor rind of actual guilt. V. In thy conception, O Virgin! Thou wast immaculate. R. Pray for us to the Father, Whose Son thou didst bring forth. Let us Pray O GOD, Who, by the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin, didst prepare a worthy habitation for Thy Son, we beseech Thee, that as by the foreseen death of that same Son, Thou didst preserve her from all stain, so too thou wouldst permit us, purified through her intercession, to come unto Thee. Prayer to Our Mother of Perpetual Help to know one's vocation

Image
SEEKING GODS WILL Mother of Perpetual Help, behold at your feet a humble and loving child. I need your help to recognize and follow the vocation in life that God has planned for me.  Mother of Perpetual Help, I know I can more easily be saved in that state of life to which I have been called through the Grace's of your divine Son. My only desire is to follow God's will in everything that concerns my future. For then, I know I shall succeed in working out my eternal salvation.  Guide and direct me in choosing the vocation in which I may best fulfill God's divine plan on earth, and be assured of seeing and possessing him for all eternity.
